A string of affordable, 2nd Avenue restaurants, just down the street from East Side Animal Hospital, have dog-friendly outdoor seating. We put together a list of what’s happening for lunch and happy hour. Stroll along the Avenue and check out these sandwich boards.

Pescatore has a mouthwatering menu of seafood lunch choices. They have a $26 dollar lunch prix fixe that includes an appetizer, entree, and desert. The outside dining area gets plenty of warm sunshine, so you should be able to enjoy this restaurants terrace almost year round. I only had an appetizer here, the grilled octopus, but what an appetizer! Loved the food and the service.

Socarrat has three locations, one in Nolita, one in Chelsea, and this one, on Second Avenue between 50th and 51st. Like its neighbor, Pescatore, this restaurant’s comfortable outdoor seating gets plenty of warm sunshine, so grab the dog, and meet a friend to enjoy Socarrat’s mouthwatering array of paellas and tapas. Wine and sangria are 1/2 price from 4 to 7pm.
The Horny Ram
951 Second Avenue (Between 50th and 51st), NY, NY 10022
Menu: https://www.thehornyramnyc.com/menus/
Reservations: opentable.com
The Horny Ram is a farm-to-table bistro that will knock your socks off with its creative style, ambiance, and, of course, delicious food. The outdoor seating is clean, comfortable and bathed in warm sunshine. I had some oysters and a beer while I taste tested my way through this pet friendly Second Avenue line up, all the while eyeballing the sandwich board sign that read ‘bottomless brunch’. Note to self, call Kathleen and book a reservation for this Sunday.
La Cava Wine Bar
939 Second Avenue (Between 49th and 50th Streets), NY, NY 10022
Menu: places.singleplatform.com
Reservations: http://www.lacavanyc.com/contact-3/
When I walked by La Cava, there was already a local enjoying a glass of wine with her dog, Max. She told me that she regularly liked La Cava for its terrific service and classy array of salads, appetizers and wine paring treats. I had the arugula, pear salad and salmon tartare. I paired it with the happy-hour priced Prosecco. Terrific!
